#FEESMUSTFALL

#FEESMUSTFALL

Breaking Chains....

It was October 2015 when students led in response to the increase to South African universities. And it including higher wages for earning university staff who worked for private outsourcing cleaning services and campus security.
University of Witwatersrand was the first from all institutions to start the protests spreading to the University of Cape Town and Rhodes University before it circulated to other universities across the Country.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

Starting point....

The irruption of the start to change.

The reason for it all students wanted answers and by doing so, the University of Witwatersrand protested for three day student lock-down to proclaim their rights by being informed with announcement made. Students and private workers wanted direct answers from the University's chief financial officer to explain in to depth the cause for the high increase that we gonna take place in the year 2016. And the vice Chancellor of the university Adam Habib informing students that the government will provide an extra R8 billion per year to students.

As he stated it included the following:
  • 22% All library books, journals, electronic resources research equipment that procured in dollars & euros causing the rand-dollar to increase.
  • 7% Salary increases for academics for retaining the best intellectual minds in the country.
  • 6% of university expenses that need to be covered.
  • High inflation rates for Utilities

Struggles of  an unfortunate student at a University.

We are ONE....

Much intercepted South Africans were intrigued by the courage and drive of students, cleaners, campus security, Television personalities and some parents in support of this campaign. It included daily protests and marches this campaign rapidly spread in very broad mass communications such Television, radio station, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and including newspapers making daily Hard News stories for receivers. It also included television personalities such as AKA, Simphiwe Dana and Cassper Nyovest and many more this helped spread to a wider and more broad audience.

It become a fear to many when students were starting to get hurt and being shot at with rubber bullets and also being arrested for trespassing as well as not being able to attend lectures or write their exams due to the protests that have spread to other universities. But through it all students and other individuals involved managed to be one and support on another through this campaign for it to be a success view here article News24
